Favorite Salesforce Feature

Flow! I can’t wait for the upcoming reboot, but to be honest, everything I can’t do with flow keeps sending me back to thinking about getting serious about learning to write, instead of just read, code.

Salesforce’s Biggest Opportunity for Improvement

I’m with SteveMo on this one. (https://success.salesforce.com/ideaView?id=0873A0000003aQvQAI) I wish Salesforce would cross some of the low-hanging fruit off their to-do list. I’m excited to see what’s behind Brett Taylor’s initiative lately in acknowledging the Idea Exchange is broken.

Fun Facts about me:

  1. I’m not an Accidental Admin. Everything happens for a reason. I’m a didn’t-know-where-I-was-going-but-hey-look-this-is-clicky Admin. Part of my senior art thesis in college was about how I was comfortable as a Semi-Luddite and a bit of a technophobe. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  2. My partner and I run our home on Agile principles including a Kanban-style to-do board in the kitchen.
  3. My love for puppets is unparalleled. We named our son Henson…
  4. I’ve been homebrewing for about 10 years. I started out in an apartment, which is no small feat and I hope it gives me street cred. See the “Ales” in @ales_force.
  5. I used to be a trained caller for frog varieties of the NorthEastern Illinois region. No, I can no longer demonstrate.

Most Identifies With This Salesforce Mascot:

Cloudy! It’s a carry-over from my past life in the New York art scene. Robert Rauschenberg is one of my favorite artists and Monogram is one of my favorite pieces. https://g.co/kgs/e6NjhP

Best Configuration feature – Process Builder it takes away unnecessary coding. Best Platform feature – ability to integrate so easily in any technology landscape. Salesforce just enables every customer to start their journey from the winning line.

Salesforce’s Biggest Opportunity for Improvement

Reports & Dashboards – Many limitations for enterprise level customers and especially when used in LEX and Salesforce Mobile app

Salesforce Goal(s) for 2017

Well 2017 has been quite busy as am leading a large global implementation right now. Missed out on all major community events, both IndiaDreamin and Dreamforce, but would like to catch up on my certs and community events in 2018 for sure. Apart from that I aim to conduct an India-wide tour across DUG’s on importance of Developer2Consultant (D2C) path in one’s Salesforce career.

5 Fun Facts about Rupesh

This one’s hard to state, I’ll give it my best shot!

  1. I accidentally swallowed a coin during childhood which got stuck in my throat, am still alive!!
  2. I was probably the first person in my community to hold a Engineering degree in Computers/IT
  3. I was working part time with my dad in his barber shop during my College days
  4. Traveled daily 4-5 hours from home to college to pursue my engineering degree (4 Years).
  5. Am a straight forward person and believe in keeping things simple. In fact on a couple of occasions, I’ve walked up to my managers and told them I am not liking the job am hired for. Believe me, its a rare thing to do in Indian IT services but it has worked for me to date.
Most Identifies With Which Salesforce Mascot

Am always a Codey at heart. Though my current role doesn’t allow me to code much, I am always up to grab a chance and get into apex!!
